RESIDENTIAL

KENTHURST HOUSE
NSW

The clients for this house sought to create a pavilion style home which suited their newly encumbered retirement.

They wanted a design which allowed them to have a connection to outdoors, but also had a minimal footprint on the land.

The pavilion style was selected for the convenience of creating different living zones for the main occupants, and also their visitors and grandchilden.

The site, set on a hidden acre in North West of Sydney, was on a slight sloping lot, which had an outlook to treetops.

A key focus was the thermal efficiency of the building, and the selection of both materials and orientation which ensured a stable and consistent temperature throughout the building. This achieved a 6.5star NatHERs rating
