RESIDENTIAL

Plumb House

The house first began as a subdivision project for the owner.

The first project was to get the land subdivided and provide 2 designs DA approved; one would be listed for sale, and the other would be their occupied home.

A key challenge of this project, as that land fell away from the street by about 8metres, adding complexity to the design and construction process.

This design was required to be BAL40 Bushfire resistant. A major issue of this build was obtaining approval for an easement for stormwater run off.

Our concept was to provide a design which was top down, with the bedrooms to the upper levels with living dining and kitchen areas to the lower floor.

The materials chosen for this area were central to both bushire resistance, but also the maximisation of thermal mass, to stabilise the indoor temperature.
